[postgis-users] spatial operations on tables in different db

potentially dumb question:

Kinda follows up on [http://postgis.refractions.net/pipermail/postgis-users/2009-November/025211.html] "Install postgis on a different schema" but slightly different -- Can I do spatial operations involving tables in different databases? Or, should I just store them in the same db, but in different schemas?
